(2) The cutting position shown in the figure above is a default setting for the print starting position
offset value that can be set by the memory switch.
(3) The PCS value of black marks should be a minimum of 0.90.
(4) There is the possibility of black mark detection not being possible with the default settings,
because of the the type of paper you use and the status of the black mark printing. If so, it is
recommended that you readjust with the paper you use.
(5) Printing top of form position precision attained through the detection of the black mark is
±2 mm with regard to the standard printing position. For printing lengths, it is 2% in the initial
status with regard to the set value, because of the difference in precision caused by the
ambient temperature and platen diameter formation. Considering life, a difference of up to 5%
of the set values is considered.
(6) The print layout should be carefully considered also for the paper used in a pre-print.
(7) When using a black mark, set the print range to the usable range shown in the drawing above
(Fig. 3.3.2).
Always provide the margin shown above so that the black mark pitch is not exceeded in the set
values for print range in the print feeding direction.
(8) Top margin (Dimension B)
(1)
(2)
(3)
Notes:
1.
If there is inadequate top margin, pages can be skipped. Be very careful of the top margin
setting.
2.
Use a setting printing range that will not exceed the black mark pitch.
(9) Bottom Margin (Dimension C)
(1)
(2)
Notes:
1.
If there is inadequate bottom margin, pages can be skipped. Be very careful of the bottom
margin setting.
2.
Use a setting printing range that will not exceed the black mark pitch.
(10) Example Setting of the Printing Region
The following shows a printing range setting example when not reverse feeding paper.
TUP500 Series Product Specifications
Set the printing range, leaving plenty of top margin from the cutting position.
When not reversing paper feed, a top margin with a total of 12 of 11 mm from the
thermal head heading elements to the cutting position, and paper feed amount of 1 mm
(8 dot lines) for printing after the cutting operation.
If you want a smaller top margin setting, change the memory switch settings.
See 14.10 MSW 9 on the separate sheet for details of the settings relating to correcting
the printing starting position.
However, be careful of the top margin setting when making the settings.
Set the range leaving plenty of bottom margin from the trailing edge of the printing range
to the black mark.
It is necessary to consider the printing precision of the black mark, the printing TOF
accuracy (±2 mm of the standard printing position), the setup ambient temperature of the
printer, and part wear-out to set the bottom margin.
It is recommended that the following conditions be met to set the printing range.
Bottom Margin (Dimension C) ≥ 3 mm + (Dimension A x 3%)
3-14
