Diagnostics and troubleshooting
The motor must not be blocked or overloaded. Check
and calculate the applied load under full load
conditions using the values of r0025, r0027, P0308
and P0309. Does the current power accord with the
power indicated on the motor's rating plate? If not,
motor and VSD are mechanically overloaded
Motor power (P0307) ≤ VSD power (see rating plate on
VSD)
Environmental conditions must lie within the specified
limits (refer to Data Sheet on VSD)
Cooling fan must rotate when VSD is in operation
− Environmental conditions must lie within the
specified limits (refer to Data Sheet on motor)
− A reduction of pulse frequency (P1800) can help
prevent the motor from overheating
Check settings in P0601 for the motor temperature
sensor used (e.g. PTC / KTY)
Check and calculate the applied load under full load
conditions using the values of r0025, r0027, P0308
and P0309. Does the current power accord with the
power indicated on the motor's rating plate? If not, the
motor is mechanically overloaded
VSD must be replaced or repaired
− P0601 is activated
− Check to see if a functioning motor temperature
sensor is connected
− Check to see if there is an open-circuit or short-circuit
If the fault occurs constantly, disconnect the motor
cable from the VSD and start the VSD without having
the motor cable connected. If the fault still occurs,
there is a defect inside the VSD, which means that the
VSD must be replaced. If the fault does not occur
without having the motor connected, the motor cable or
motor causes the fault. Connect the motor cable
(without motor) to the VSD, enabling you to check the
condition of the motor cable
Make motor identification
Increase the ramp-down time (P1121)
Check the SED2 as described in the SED2 Planning
Manual (CM1J5192)
Ensure that the SED2 is started only when the contact
at the output is closed.
If a change to bypass is made, ensure that OFF2 is
activated before the output switch opens. As a result,
the IGBT becomes high impedance, which means that
voltage is no longer present at the output
Possibly, defective motor insulation occurs only at
certain voltages or frequencies
Increase the pulse frequency (P1800)
Can the motor freely rotate or is it blocked?
