Have the input signals of the SED2 been checked (point test)?
Note:
- The incoming signals at the digital inputs (DIN1 - DIN6) can be
checked in parameter r0722
- The incoming signals at the analog inputs (AIN1 and AIN2) can be
checked in parameter r0752 (index 00 = AIN1 and index 01 = AIN2)
When using a motor with a belt, the strength of the belt must be checked.
Note:
- A loose belt can lead to overvoltages and error messages on the SED2
Has the current parameter data set been read out and saved with the EasyComm software?
Note:
- We recommend to save the current data set of the SED2. This will enable you to always retrieve the
existing default settings of the application should a problem occur or should a service visit become
necessary
Ensure that the motor is not mechanically blocked
If the motor is used for driving a pump, is the medium (water) present (no dry run)?
Make certain that valves or dampers are open during operation
Ensure that there are no persons or objects in dangerous zones?
Is the motor's direction of rotation correct?
Note:
- If the motor's direction of rotation must be reversed, this can be done by cross-connecting 2 phases of
the motor supply line or by changing the setting of parameter P1820
Has the behavior of the SED2 in the event of failure been tested?
Note:
- To produce an SED2 fault for test purposes, several choices are available:
• If a PTC / Klixon temperature sensor is used, one of the connections for motor temperature
monitoring (terminal 14 or 15) can be removed for a moment.
Then, the SED2 will statically display error F0015
• If no PTC / Klixon is used, a wire bridge can be fitted across terminals 9 and 17. When the link is
fitted, parameter P0706, index 00, can be set to 29 (external fault at DIN6). If the wire bridge is
removed for a short moment, the SED2 triggers error F0085 (external fault)
