MEDIBUS/MEDIBUS.X Protocol
MEDIBUS and MEDIBUS.X are software protocols
for use in transferring data between Primus and an
external medical or non-medical device (e.g., he-
modynamic monitors, data management systems,
or a Windows-based computer) via the RS-232 in-
terface see:
– 9037426, sixth edition or higher
or
– 9052608, third edition or higher.

Data transferred via the MEDIBUS/MEDIBUS.X
interface are for information only and are not
intended as a basis for diagnosis or therapy
decisions. The data accessible via this inter-
face are not intended for a decentralized alarm
system in accordance with IEC60601-1-8:2012
(in the sense of remote monitoring).
WARNING
Risk of electric shock
Connecting devices to the auxiliary outlets of
the anesthesia machine can cause an in-
crease in leakage current beyond permissible
values if the protective conductor of a device
fails.
Check the leakage current when connecting
devices to the auxiliary outlets. If connecting
a device (or devices) increases the leakage
current to a value which exceeds the permis-
sible value, do not use the auxiliary outlets of
the anesthesia machine, but a separate wall
socket.

medical electrical equipment in accordance
with the relevant standards, see "Technical
Data", page 261.
