12. Install identification tags and disconnect clutch
interconnect (X12).
13. Remove crankshaft fastener (10), power take-off
(PTO) pulley (11), and PTO clutch (12).
14. Release tension on ground drive belt (13). See
"Adjust Ground Drive Belt Tension" on page 4-10.
15. Remove ground drive belt and ground drive pulley
(14).
CAUTION
!
Use an appropriate lifting device to support and
lift engine. Failure to follow this information
could result in death or personal injury.
16. Attach appropriate lifting device to engine.

17. Remove engine mounting fasteners (15) and engine.
18. Clean and inspect engine. See authorized Kawasaki
dealer for assistance. Repair or replace as
necessary.

Installation

Installation is done in reverse order of removal.
• Tighten fasteners (10 and 15) to specification.

• Adjust deck belt. See "Adjust Deck Belt Tension" on

• Adjust choke cable. See "Check and Adjust Choke
Cable" on page 4-5.
• Add engine oil. See "Engine Oil and Filter Change"
on page 3-4.
