Fuel Shutoff Solenoid Test

1. Prepare machine for service. See "Prepare
Equipment for Service" on page 1-13.
2. Set multimeter to ohms.
3. Disconnect engine harness electrical connector.
4. Connect the red lead from the meter to the engine
connector terminal 3 (purple wire).
5. Connect the black lead from the meter to the engine
ground. If reading is within 30—40 ohms, fuel
solenoid is good.
6. Disconnect fuel shutoff solenoid electrical connector.
7. Connect meter lead to fuel shutoff solenoid
terminal 1.
8. Connect other meter lead to fuel shutoff solenoid
case. If continuity is shown, replace solenoid.
9. Connect meter lead to fuel shutoff solenoid
terminal 2.
10. Connect other meter lead to fuel shutoff solenoid
case. If continuity is shown, replace solenoid.
