Remove and Install Battery

Removal

1. Park and prepare machine for service. See "Prepare
Equipment for Service" on page 1-13.
2. Raise seat.

CAUTION
!
Do not to allow any metal objects to touch both
battery posts simultaneously. Do not let wrench
touch the positive terminal and the frame at the
same time. Failure to follow this information
could result in death or personal injury.
3. Install identification tags and disconnect negative (-)
battery lead (1) first and positive (+) battery lead (2)
second.
4. Remove fastener (3) and battery (4).
5. Clean and inspect battery. Replace as necessary.

Installation

Installation is done in reverse order of removal.
• Install positive (+) battery lead first and negative (-)
battery lead second.

Replace Fuses and Relays

1. Park and prepare machine for service. See "Prepare
Equipment for Service" on page 1-13.
2. Raise seat.
3. Remove cover (1).
HUS1040
4. Remove fuse (2) or relay (3).
5. Test fuse. See "Fuse Test" on page 6-19.
6. Replace fuses as necessary.
7. Test relay. See "Relay Test" on page 6-20.
8. Replace relays as necessary.
