Connecting the cables

For information on the encoders, see the relevant user manual:
• Absolute encoder (SSI) and incremental encoder (TTL): "Absolute
Encoder Interface FEN-11 user manual" (3AFE68784841)
• Incremental encoder (HTL): "HTL Encoder Interface FEN-31 user
manual" (3AUA0000031044)
Conductors
• If a twisted pair cable is used, leave the unshielded cable ends
twisted until they reach the terminals.
• Leave unshielded conductor ends as short as possible (not longer
than 50 mm).
Cable shields
• Connect the shield of serial communications cables to the
fieldbus adapter.
