10. The settings will not take effect until the system is restarted. System restart can
be initiated by selecting the "Restart now" option in the dialog box shown
when you exit the Network Control Panel.
Note: If the system is already using an adapter of the same type, the driver has to
be updated manually. See the next steps to accomplish this.
1. Insert the Olicom Driver Disk and copy the file OCE3XM.SYS from the disk
to the Windows NT directory "\system32\drivers".
2. Reboot the system for the changes to be effective.

Adapter Parameters

When configuring an adapter, the following parameters can be modified.
Speed (Auto, 10 Mbps, 100 Mbps)
This parameter can be used to force the Ethernet MCA 10/100 Adapter to use a
specified data rate of either 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps. If "Auto" is selected, the
Ethernet MCA 10/100 Adapter will auto-negotiate the speed and use the
highest possible value.
Duplex (Auto, Half, Full)
This parameter can be used to force the Ethernet MCA 10/100 Adapter into a
specified duplex mode, that is full or half duplex. If "Auto" is selected, the
Ethernet MCA 10/100 Adapter will auto-negotiate the duplex mode and use
the best possible value. In some hubs and switches the auto-negotiation of
duplex operation is unresolved. In such cases half duplex operation will be
used. If full duplex operation is required, use "Full" to force this mode.
Network Address
Use the network address field if you do not want to use the adapter's burned-in
Ethernet address.
The address entered may be preceded by an address format identifier (I or T), I
is for IEEE standard address format also known as canonical or LSB format. T
is for IBM Token-Ring Network format, also known as non-canonical format
or MSB format. The IEEE standard notation will be used if this identifier is left
out.
The value must be a locally administered address. If the IEEE standard
notation is used, the address must be in the following format:
IX*XXXXXXXXXX or just X*XXXXXXXXXX, where X is any
hexadecimal digit and * is either 2, 6, A, or E.
