Performing Infrared Monitoring

General
Infrared monitoring enables you to constantly monitor the patient's position during treatment. You

can define tolerances for the patient's position, so that the system warns you if unacceptable devi-
ations occur.
You can also enable an automatic treatment beam interlock, so that the beam is automatically cut
off if the patient shifts out of position (see "Using the Beam Interlock" on page 69). This is an addi-
tional optional feature that requires an Novalis TX linac, or a Varian high energy linac with ExacTrac
EXGI based Gating.
