Patient Monitoring Workflow

Overview

Room Lighting
Sufficient room lighting is required to use the video subtraction images. Do not use the ExacTrac IR
Monitoring software in a dark room, and ensure that room lighting does not change while ExacTrac
IR Monitoring is in use. as otherwise the video subtraction reference image will display an incorrect
situation.

Steps
1.
Position the patient on the couch.
2.
Attach infrared body markers. See "Using Infrared Body Markers" on page 59.
3.
Start the ExacTrac IR Monitoring software. See "Infrared Monitoring" on page 62.
4.
Check whether the infrared body markers are visible and whether the number of markers
in the left and right camera view match the number of markers on the patient.
5.
Perform the third-party IGRT patient positioning procedure and ensure that the patient is
in the correct treatment position.
6.
Press the Store IR Reference to define the patient position. See "How to Store the Pa-
tient Position" on page 63.
The user shall confirm, that the initial patient position when starting IR moni-
toring was determined in an appropriate way by using a 3rd party IGRT imag-
ing device.
7.
The patient position is now monitored by the software.

You can also use subtractive video to provide independent verification of the patient's po-
sition. See "Using Video Verification" on page 71.
9.
After patient treatment is finished, press Close Patient and print a monitoring report PDF
if required.
