Using the Beam Interlock

General
If you activate the beam interlock, the Linac treatment beam will only be active when the infrared
Information
monitoring indicates that the patient is within the pre-defined accuracy tolerance (see "Body Marker
Accuracy Settings" on page 54).
Safety Notes
Clinical User Guide Rev. 1.1, ExacTrac Infrared Monitoring Ver. 1.0
Beam cut off may not be used for respiratory gating.
If the linac continues to emit radiation, as indicated by continuous beeping of the linac
or other indicators, this may indicate a failure of the beam-hold process. Immediately
turn off the beam in this case. Do not resume treatment until proper functioning of the
beam gating has been verified.
In case of a beam-hold failure (Linac beam remains active while ExacTrac indicates
Beam Hold), immediately hold the treatment and do not resume treatment until proper
functioning of the beam-hold function has been verified.
