The following sections provide descriptions that correspond to the numbered
parts of the BayStack 281xx switches illustrated in
The service port on the front of the switch uses an RJ-45 connector and RS-232
signaling. This port can be used to connect a VT100-compatible terminal for
configuring and displaying the BayStack 281xx switch configuration
parameters.
Basic configuration parameters can be modified from the service port. Refer to
Chapter 4, "Configuring the BayStack 281xx Switch," for more information
about using the service port menus.
