Configuring SNMP Parameters

The read and read/write community strings are used by the SNMP agent to
control requests for information about and access to management information
for the BayStack 281xx switch. The SNMP parameters can only be modified
from the service port menu, they cannot be changed remotely from a network
management station.
To configure the read and read/write privileges for the BayStack 281xx switch,
follow these steps:
1.
In the Main Menu, choose Configuration Parameters.
2.
In the Configuration Parameters menu, choose SNMP Parameters.
The SNMP Parameters menu is displayed, as shown in

Switch Software Version: 1.4.2
Modify Read Community String [public]
Modify Read-Write Community String [private]
Change the SNMP read community string.
Use cursor keys to choose item. Press <RETURN> to confirm choice.
