Configuring the BayStack 281xx Switch
This chapter provides the following information for configuring the
BayStack 281xx switch:
Default configuration parameters
Configuring the minimum system parameters
Using the service port menus
Using the front panel display and keypad
After installing the BayStack 281xx switch, you must configure a set of
minimum system parameters. See
chapter for more information.
Advanced configuration for the BayStack 281xx switch can be performed using
the Optivity LAN 7.0 for UNIX and Optivity 6.0 for Windows network
management application.
For more information about how to manage the BayStack 281xx switch with
Optivity, refer to the user documentation for Optivity 7.0 for UNIX or
Optivity 6.0 for Windows or later.
Table 4-1 lists the configuration parameters that can be modified from either the
service port menus or the front panel display and keypad. As shown in the
table, the front panel display does not provide options for modifying the port
speed or duplex mode.
NOTE: The front display panel is limited to 16 characters. If your parameter
name exceeds 16 characters, use the service port menus or Optivity network
management software to modify that parameter.
