Apply the reinforcement for the casing:
Pull one layer of 99B25 nylon stockinette over the
finished orthosis.
Pull over one PVA bag.
Pull two layers of Perlon stockinette over the model.
Secure two layers of carbon fibre mesh on the dum­
mies.
Pull two layers of Perlon stockinette over the model.
Pull over one PVA bag.
Fabricate the casing with an appropriate amount of lam­
ination resin.
Demould the casing after it cures. Carefully sand down
the lamination dummies of the battery and its receptacle
as well as the electronics and their receptacle to the
edges.
Fully demould the orthosis from the model and remove
all dummies and the plasticine. Sand down the edges
of the orthosis and the casing.
Insert the dummy 1 for the electronics into the corres­
ponding receptacle 2. Position the receptacle in the
casing from the outside.
Repeat the steps for the battery receptacle.
INFORMATION: Ensure that the cable connection
goes from the orthotic knee joint cable to the elec­
tronics and from the electronics cable to the bat­
tery.
Secure the receptacles and dummies with PVC adhes­
ive tape from the outside. Pull the adhesive tape tight to
prevent the sealing resin from penetrating during glu­
ing.
