Problem
9. The screen displays PLATEN NOT
LATCHED. CALL SERVICE-
LATCH. IS AN OBJECT STUCK
UNDER THE PLATEN? IF NO,
COOK FLAT ITEMS ONLY.
10.The display reads UPPER PLATEN
STUCK. CALL SERVICE-LATCH.
IF THE PLATEN IS OPEN, COOK
FLAT ITEMS ONLY.
11.The platen will not lower to preset
gap height.

Probable Cause
a. An item may be under the platen, pre-
venting it from latching.
b. The pneumatic system is faulty.
c. The latch switch is faulty.
d. The latch solenoid is faulty.
a. The arm bearings are dirty.
b. The air cylinder is faulty.
c. Plugged air lines to cylinders.
a. Excessive carbon buildup on the shields.
b. Defective motor interface board.
c. Loose harness connections.
d. Defective main display controller.
e. Defective motors and cables.

Remedy
a. Remove the item and try again.
