Applying the patch update to the ProtecTIER servers

Use these procedures to update ProtecTIER servers to the latest v3.1.x.x code level.
If you are updating multiple servers, you can perform the update on all of the
servers, simultaneously.
Procedure
Note: The ptcluster service should not be stopped before the upgrade. Stop the
vtfd service on both nodes, install the patch on node A (by executing the autorun
script), and then install the patch on node B. Each time the autorun script is
executed, the server reboots and the vtfd service automatically restarts.
The Download results page opens.
8. From the Results list, click the most recent entry (v3.1.x.x) for the product you
specified.
Where 3.1.x.x is the most current version of ProtecTIER available for
download.
The ProtecTIER GW patch 3.1x or ProtecTIER AP1 patch 3.1.x page, displays.
9. Scroll to the Download package section, and then in the Download Options
box, click: FTP.
The Terms and Conditions page, displays.
Depending on the product you selected, the Opening
PT_TS7650G_V3.1.x.x86_64.tar or Opening PT_TS7650_AP1_V3.1.x.x86_64.tar
dialog box, opens.
The ProtecTIER v3.1.x.x software downloads to the local hard drive.
PT_TS7650_AP1_V3.1.x.x86_64.tar file to a CD.
You will use this CD to perform the v3.1.x.x upgrade.
1. To begin updating the ProtecTIER code on the server, first access the
ProtecTIER Configuration menu on the server you want to update.
2. At the login prompt, type: ptconfig and press Enter.
3. At the Password prompt, type: ptconfig and press Enter. The ProtecTIER
Service Menu is displayed.
4. From the menu, select the Update ProtecTIER code option. Type the number
of your choice and press Enter at the prompt. The following is displayed:

Locating the DVD device...done
Place the ProtecTIER code disc in the DVD tray, close the tray and press Enter.
5. Insert the CD that contains the PT_TS7650G_V3.1.x.x.x86_64.tar or
PT_TS7650_AP1_V3.1.x.x.x86_64.tar file into the server's disc drive and press
Enter. The following is displayed:
Mounting... done
Extracting the code package...
There are 2 older packages on the system.
Would you like to clear them? (y/[n]) :
Note: If old packages appear on the system, you can type y to remove them.
The default is [n].
