4. Select the Check if RAS is running option. Type: 1 <enter>.
v If RAS has been configured and is running, the following messages display:
Begin Processing Procedure
RAS is running
a. Exit the RAS Menu. Type: E <enter>.
b. Go on to step 5.
v If RAS has not been configured and is not running, the following messages
display:
Begin Processing Procedure
RAS is down
a. To configure RAS on the server, follow the instructions in Appendix H,
"Making a server connection through the Remote Supervisor Adapter
(RSA)," on page 83.
b. Return to this page and go on to step 5.
5. Stop the vtfd and cluster services on the server. Enter the command:
service vtfd stop <enter>
service ptcluster stop <enter>
6. Check the /install directory for the presence of .tar files for code levels older
than the one currently running on the server. If older .tar files exist, remove
them along with the directories that were created when those levels of code
were expanded. Doing so will help maintain available space within the root
(/) file system. If the files are allowed to accumulate and fill up the root file
system, unexpected server restarts can occur.
7. Remove the older .tar files. Enter the command:
rm <filename>.tar <enter>
For example: rm PT_TS7650G_V2.4.1.0-full.x86_64.tar <enter>
The following message displays:
rm: remove regular file `PT_TS7650G_V2.4.1.0-full.x86_64.tar'?
8. Type y <enter>.
9. Repeat steps 7 and 8 to remove any remaining .tar files that are older than the
ones for the code level currently running on the server.
10. Remove the older expanded directories.
Note: The command below removes ALL inclusive content. You will not be
prompted to confirm removal of the directory.
Enter the command:
rm -rf <directory name> <enter>
For example: rm -rf PT_TS7650G_V2.4.1.0-full.x86_64 <enter>
11. Repeat step 10 to remove any remaining directories other than the one for the
code level currently running on the server.
12. List the /install directory's contents to verify that you have removed all
unneeded .tar files and directories. Enter the command:
