In addition, each virtual interface containing more than one physical interface
(configured as a bond) needs to be configured with a load balancing method.
Currently, a server with 10 Gbe interfaces does not support bonding, which means
that each of the server virtual interfaces contain only a single physical interface.
No physical interfaces can be reassigned. The load balancing method does not
matter, in this case, because the virtual interface contains only a single physical
interface. For a server with 1Gbe interfaces, bonding is supported, and the
recommended load balancing method is LACP with L3L4.
For more information about bonding, the different load balancing methods, and
whether to configure bonds at all, refer to the Best Practices Guide for IBM System
Storage TS7600 ProtecTIER Deduplication Solutions, IBM form number GA32-0924.
The Best Practices Guide also contains configuration examples and instructions.
