The NetBackup 5220 is designed to run 24 hours a day. If the device needs to be
maintained or the power supplies are planned to be turned off or disconnected,
perform the following steps to completely power off the device.

Do not switch off the power before the disks stop running. Otherwise, disks
might be damaged and data might be lost.
After shutting down the system, wait at least one minute before switching on
the power again.
Log in to the software management interface of the NetBackup 5220 to check
for running tasks. If there are running tasks, do not power off the device until
the tasks are completed.
Log in to the NetBackup 5220 appliance shell menu. Default login and
password are admin and P@ssw0rd, respectively.
Use the shutdown command to normally shut down the NetBackup 5220.
After the system power indicator of the NetBackup 5220 shows that the
device is off, turn off power supplies of the NetBackup 5220.
Verify that no programs or tasks are running.
