Connecting network cables

Connecting network cables
The mainboard of the NetBackup 5220 offers two GE network ports (NIC 1 and NIC 2)
and one IPMI management network port. These ports are accessed on the rear panel of
the device.

You can connect three separated network cables to the three network ports on the rear
panel of the NetBackup 5220, and then connect those cables to other devices.

NIC 1
Private network/management Ethernet port
Provides a channel for system management of the NetBackup 5220.
Default IP address 192.168.1.1
NIC 2
Service network Ethernet port
Provides a channel for the backup of service data.
IPMI
Intelligent Platform Management Interface port
Enables data gathering and monitoring of hardware status.
Connect a cable between the NIC 1 port and the management port of
your Windows PC.
Connect a cable between the NIC 2 port and the service port of your
Windows PC.
Connect a cable between the IPMI port and the maintenance
terminal of your Windows PC or your management network.
