The following modules have a ground short monitoring facility:
Master module E3X101 (from index b)
Master module E3X120
Control module «universal» E3G070 (from index b switchable)
Interactive line module E3M071
Within a C-Bus network with electrically connected CC/CI/CT stations (common supply
and/or emergency operation connections) the ground short monitoring facility may be
active on one module only.
Õ If a station is operated with an independent supply and if there is no emergency op-
eration connection with the other C-Bus stations, it requires an independent ground
short monitoring facility.
In principle, the ground short monitoring facility must be activated on E3X101, E3X120
or E3G070 of the station with C-Bus address 1 (set by means of jumper Õ see de-
scription of hardware, document e1260 or e1577).
In order to monitor the C-Bus for ground short, the C-Bus potential must be applied to
the 'system ground' of a C-Bus user (set basically on main CPU with C-Bus address
1 (E3X101, E3X120 or B3Qxxx) by means of a jumper Õ see description of hardware,
document e1260 or e1577).
Factory setting of modules
The ground short monitoring facility is inactive (modules E3X101, E3X120 and
E3G070)
C-Bus potential is not applied to 'system ground' (modules E3X101, E3X120 and
B3Qxxx) Õ C-Bus is not monitored for ground short
Important:
G The C-Bus potential may be applied to 'system ground' on one station only.
G The ground short monitoring facility may be active on one module only within an
electrically connected C-Bus network.
Master module E3X101, E3X120 or control module «universal» E3G070
Connect supply positive or negative to ground for approx. 10 seconds, in order that the
corresponding trouble message is indicated.
Interactive line module E3M071
Connect positive or negative lead of the interactive line to ground for approx. 10 seconds
in order that the corresponding trouble message is indicated
