8. Remove the nitric acid solution by pumping HPLC-grade water through the LC system
at 1 mL/min for 15 to 20 minutes.
9. Turn the Purge Control Off and On several times as you flush the system with water.
If the detector does not power up, you must replace the fuses. See
"Troubleshooting,"
to confirm if the fuses require replacement. The following procedure
describes how to replace the fuses.
CAUTION Take care to unplug the detector from line power before you remove the fuse
holder from the power entry module. Failing to do so can result in electric shock.
To replace a fuse
1. Press the power switch to power off the detector.
2. Remove the power cord from the back panel of the detector.
3. Squeeze the lever located just below the fuse holder cover until you hear a clicking sound,
and then pull the fuse holder out of the power module.
4. Remove the old fuses and replace them with the new fuses provided in the accessory kit.
For 115 V line power, use T3.15AL250V fuses. For 230 V line power, use T1.6AL250V
fuses. See
Figure
22.
5. Push the fuse holder back into the back panel of the detector until you hear a clicking
sound.

6. Install the power cord on the back panel of the detector.
7. Press the power switch to power on the detector.
