Interpreting the alphanumeric display

The front panel alphanumeric display shows codes that assist troubleshooting:
• b indicates that PortServer II is booting from a remote bootp server.
• F indicates that PortServer II is booting from a remote TFTP server.
• CL indicates PortServer II is clearing previous configuration information.
Note: You can clear stored configuration information by holding down the < and >
pushbuttons while switching on power, and holding them down until CL is
displayed. (See Resetting PortServer II to Factory Defaults later in this
Chapter).
• Error codes E0 through E9 indicate a failure of one of the POST checks. The
number corresponds with the number of the test listed in the table above. For
example, E4 indicates a real-time clock error.
• PU indicates the LED display is showing Processor Utilization. If all ten LEDs
are lit, PortServer II's CPU is 100% utilized. Under normal operation between
one and five LEDs should be lit, depending on the traffic.
• AC indicates PortServer II has passed the tests and is now in normal operating
mode.
