UNPACKING
Wear the heavy gloves during unpacking to protect your
hands from the sharp edges and burrs on the steel crate
frame.
1. Remove the eight bolts attaching the upper frame and
the four nuts attaching the engine hanger bracket.

2. Lift up the upper frame slowly with care not t o strike
o n t h e o u t b o a r d m o t o r . (Get an assistant t o h e l p
remove the crate frame.) Then remove the corrugate
card board cover.

L i f t u p a n d r e m o v e t h e c o r r u g a t e d c a r d b o a r d
protector that contains t he engine, then slide and
r e m o v e t h e c or r ug at ed ca r db oa r d p r ot e ct or t h a t
contains the engine cover.

Cut the tie and remove the parts carton from the crate.
Compare the parts t o the parts list on page 5.
After comparing the parts, go t o step 6 on page 7.
