7. To bleed the water tank, rotate the knurled nut of
the bleed valve (Fig. 43, item 1) approx. 90° counter-
clockwise and hold until water flows out of the drain
hose (Fig. 43, item 3).
 This bleeds the water tank.

If the knurled nut is turned too far, the bleed valve is
heard to engage and closes again.
8. Close the inlet cock (see Fig. 42, item 1).
9. Close the tap of the water mains. Leave the hose in
position, as it is needed again for topping up.
6.7.6 Function test
1. Remove the side cover of the electronics
compartment.
2. Switch off the circuit breaker F2 on the installation
panel.
3. Close the EPS 708 protective hood.
4. Start the EPS 708 test bench via the master switch.
5. Start the EPS945 system software.
 The software performs initialization.
6. In the "Injection component test main menu" start
screen, select <F12>.

under all circumstances.
8. Continue with <F12>.

11. In the "Component selection" window, select
<F12>.
12. Observe the actual values for tank temperature and
inlet temperature until 40°C is attained.
13. Back with <F11>.
14. In the "Component selection" window, select <F7>.
15. Change the set value from 40°C to 30°C in the tank
temperature input block.
16. Change the set value from 40°C to 30°C in the inlet
temperature input block.
17. Proceed to the measurement display with <F12>.
 The "Important" dialog box with the maximum
speed is displayed.
18. Continue with <F12>.
 Measurement display opens.
19. Activate the circuit breaker F2 on the installation
panel.
 The water pump of the chiller starts up after
approx. 10 seconds.

If the water pump of the chiller does not start,
check the messages on the chiller display. If an error
tH
message, e.g. and a bell symbol, are displayed
at the bottom left, reset the electronics. To do
so, simultaneously press and hold the two "Clear"
buttons on the LCD of the chiller for approx. 5 s.
Observe the chiller display. The chiller fan starts up
at a water temperature of 15°C. The fan cuts out
again at a water temperature of 11°C.
20. Once the chiller fan has started, check the direction
of the air flow. To do so, hold a sheet of paper in
front of the cooling fins of the chiller. The air must
flow outwards. If this is not the case, the phase
sequence of the electricity network is incorrectly
set. In this case, check the electrical connection of
the EPS 708.
21. On the monitor, check whether the tank and inlet
temperatures drop to 30°C. If this is not the case,
check the valves on the chiller.
22. Exit the window with <Esc>.
23. Exit the EPS945 system software with <Esc>.
24. Shut down the PC.
25. Switch off the EPS 708 at the master switch.
26. Top up the water in the chiller (see section 6.7.5).
This only applies to an EPS 708 with chiller.
