6.8.3 Preparing the water pump

Flexible corrugated tubing and insulating material
for insulating the pump are included in the scope of
delivery of the new water pump.
1. Using a cutter, trim the insulating material to fit the
new water pump.
2. Screw the hose fitting (Fig. 48, item 1) into the wa-
ter pump with a copper sealing ring (A33 x 39) and
tighten.
3. Screw the reducer (Fig. 48, item 2) into the water
pump with a copper sealing ring (A33 x 39) and
tighten.
4. Wrap several layers of PTFE thread sealing tape
(Teflon tape) around the threads of the flexib-
le corrugated tubing until the threads are barely
visible. Then rub between your fingers again until
tight. Make sure that the tape is round opposite the
direction in which the threads screw in.

5. Screw the flexible corrugated tubing
(Fig. 48, item 2) into the water pump and tighten.

1. Place the water pump in the water chiller and secure
it with the aid of washers (4 x) and hex head bolts
(4 x).
2. Adjust the length of the flexible corrugated tubing
and bend it until it can be attached to the connec-
tion on the reservoir.
3. Screw the union nut over the connection on the
reservoir and tighten.
4. Push the hose (Fig. 45, item 2) onto the hose fitting.
5. Secure the hose (Fig. 45, item 1) with the screw
clamp.
6. Wrap the insulating material around the flexible
corrugated tubing and fasten with adhesive tape.
7. Place the insulating material on the water pump and
fasten with adhesive tape.

1. Remove the cover (Fig. 44, item 1) from the motor
terminal box.
2. Pull the connection cable for the water pump volta-
ge supply into the motor terminal box through the
cable gland (Fig. 44, item 2).
3. Attach the protective conductor of the connection
cable to the protective conductor terminal.
4. Attach the wires U (black), V (gray) and W (brown)
to the terminals as follows.

5. Tighten the cable gland.
6. Attach the cover to the motor terminal box.
