6.21.1
Removing the drive motor
1. Turn off the EPS 708 at the master switch.
2. Secure the master switch so that it cannot be
switched back on.
3. Unplug the mains plug or disconnect from mains
electricity.
4. Check that there is no power.
5. Remove the flywheel (see section 6.20.1). Then
proceed as described in this section.

6. Remove the front cover of the electric motor
compartment.
7. Remove the top cover of the electric motor
compartment.
8. Disconnect the cables from the sockets (item 2).
9. Slacken the two screws on the fan mounting
plate (item 1) and remove the fan.
10. Slacken the four screws on the flange (item 3) and
remove the drive motor (approx. 24 kg) with the
help of a second person.

Installing the drive motor

1. Rotate the two sockets (items 1 and 2) on the motor
in the direction of the motor axle.

Note the tightening torque.
2. With the aid of a second person, insert the drive
motor in the test bench and fit to the flange with
four screws.
Tightening torque: 50 Nm
3. Fit the fan to the mounting plate with two screws.
4. Connect the cables to the sockets.
5. Install the flywheel (see section 6.20.2). Then
proceed as described in this section.
6. Fit the top cover of the electric motor compartment.
7. Fit the front cover of the electric motor
compartment.

When a new drive motor has been installed, it must be
registered in the frequency converter of the EPS 708.
