Metallic Horn antenna – antenna extensions

Equipment needed:
• 3 mm Allen wrench (not supplied)
• 36 mm open-end or box-end wrench (not supplied)
CAUTION!
Metallic Horn antennas: Make sure that there are not more than 10 antenna extensions attached Metallic Horn antennas:

to a device with a Metallic Horn antenna. If there are more than 10 antenna extensions, the
device will not measure correctly.
Procedure 1: How to attach an antenna extension
• Attach the antenna extensions 1 below the flange. Use a 36 mm open-end wrench to tighten
each antenna extension. Make sure that the antenna extensions 1 fully engaged.
• Tighten the locking screw 3 on each antenna extension with a 3 mm Allen wrench.
• Attach the antenna 2. Make sure the antenna is fully engaged.
• Tighten the locking screw 3 on each antenna extension with a 3 mm Allen wrench.
• Use a 3 mm Allen wrench to tighten the locking screws 3.
i If the antenna extension is supplied with the device, it is not necessary to change the device
settings. End of the procedure.
• If the antenna extension is supplied after delivery of the device, it is necessary to change the
device settings. Do the procedure that follows.
Procedure 2: Device settings for a device with an antenna extension
• Push 2 × [> > > > ], 2 × [ ] and [> > > > ] to go to menu item Login
• Enter the hexadecimal password (default password: 0058).
• Push 2 × [^ ^ ^ ^ ], 2 × [ ], 2 × [> > > > ], 5 × [ ] and [> > > > ] to go to menu item C1.8 Antenna Extension
• Push [> > > > ] to change the value. Push [> > > > ] to change the position of the cursor. Push [ ] to
decrease the value or [ ] to increase the value.
Each antenna extension is 105 mm long. If the device has 3 antenna extensions, they have a

total length of 315 mm. In this example, enter the value "315".
• If you changed the antenna extension value, also change the blocking distance value. Push
[^ ^ ^ ^ ], 3 × [ ], [> > > > ] to go to menu item C1.5 Blocking Distance
• Push [> > > > ] to change the value. Push [> > > > ] to change the position of the cursor. Push [ ] to
decrease the value or [ ] to increase the value. Minimum recommended blocking distance =
antenna length + (antenna extension length × number of extensions) +0.3 m / 12¨.
• Push 3 × [^ ^ ^ ^ ] to go back to the "Save Configuration?" screen.
• Push [ ] or [ ] to set the screen to Yes
