Locations and Functions of Parts and Controls
3 U (ground connector)
Connect to the grounding terminal.
4 -AC IN connectors A, B
Connect to the AC outlet using the specified AC power
cord (not supplied).
The two connectors A and B correspond to POWER
switches A and B on the front panel, respectively.
When the SIU-100 is used, connect the AC power cord
only to connector A.
When the SIU-100T is used, connect AC power cords
to both connectors A and B.
5 REMOTE IN connector (D-SUB 9-pin, female)
Connect the SIU-RM101 remote control unit for the
DMBK-S101.

(ethernet) connector (RJ-45 modular jack)
Connect to a standard 10 BASE-T network.
Caution
When using a LAN cable: For safety, do not connect to
a connector for peripheral device wiring that might
have excessive voltage.
7 MIDI IN connector (DIN 5-pin)
Connect to the MIDI OUT connector of the DMX-
R100. Used for receiving program change messages
from the DMX-R100 and recalling the scene from the
SIU-100/100T.
8 Slots 1 to 8 for option boards
Insert option boards.
For details of how to insert such boards, contact your
nearest Sony dealer.
For the DMBK-R109 MADI board, you can insert a
maximum of two DMBK-R109 boards only into slots
1 and 2.
For detailed information on option boards, see "Option
Boards" on page 94.
The slot numbers are shown below.

LCD - Normal operating display
The normal operating display on the LCD (other than
that for menu operations) is explained below.
1 SYNC setting display section
2 PLL operating status display section
3 External sync signal frequency

1 SYNC setting display section
Displays the sync reference signal and sampling
frequency selected on the SYNC submenu of the
SETUP menu.
2 PLL operating status display section
Displays the operating status of the internal PLL.
LOCK: Operating correctly.
UNLOCK: Synchronization is lost. Check whether
the correct reference signal is input.
NO REF WORD, NO REF DI, NO REF VIDEO:
The required external reference signal is not being
input. Check whether the VIDEO/WORD switch
on the rear panel is set correctly or whether the
cable of the sync signal is connected correctly.
3 External sync signal frequency display section
Displays the frequency of the sync signal in case of
the external synchronization.
For EXT-WORD, EXT DI synchronization:
Displays the sampling frequency of the input
signal.
For EXT-VIDEO synchronization: Displays the
vertical sync frequency of the input signal.
4 Scene number display section
Displays the number of the current scene (last one
recalled or last one stored).
