Inspection item

The soft starter is a static unit mainly consisting of semiconductor devices. Weekly inspection should be performed to prevent
any fault from occurring due to the adverse effects of the operating environment, such as temperature, humidity, dust, dirt
and vibration, changes in the parts with time, service life and other factors.
When accessing the soft starter for inspection, wait for at least 10 minutes after the power supply has been switched
OFF before touching the soft starter.
Weekly inspection
Check the following during operation:
Motor operation alarm.
Improper installation environment.
Cooling system fault.
Abnormal vibration, abnormal noise, bearing noises in motor.
Abnormal overheat and discoloration of terminals.
Protective covers on terminals
Periodic inspection
Check the following when the unit is not operational:
Check that there is no voltage on the input terminals.
Check all areas inaccessible during operation.
Clean the air inlet and outlet grills.
Torque screws and bolts as they may become loose due to vibration and temperature variations.
Check connections and insulating materials for corrosion and damage.
Measure the insulation resistance and confirm that this is still within limits for the installation.
Check and replace the cooling fan/s every 5 operating years or as required.
