User accounts and related parameters must be configured on remote units. They are
not part of the Push Config which may be downloaded.
4.3.1

Login and logout scheme

If accounts are enabled then on the M&C or console port the following prompts are
issued. These include the node name in the prompt.
Enter username for Node1:
Enter password for Node1:
On the web interface your browser will bring up a new window for username and
password.
Note: You will only be permitted HTTP or HTTPS access if IP > Access Table
entries have been configured to allow HTTP or HTTPS access.
CAUTION: Web browsers may cache passwords, so close your browser at the end
of a session to purge the cache. Alternatively set the "auto complete" function to
If login fails for any reason, the unit supplies the message
Access denied
On the M&C or console port: To logout issue a logout command at the Banner page
on M&C interface. The command is <Shift><L> – it must be uppercase and must be
issued at the Banner page on M&C interface. You can also logout from the debug
prompt by typing LOGOUT, or from the TTY prompt by typing nodename LOGOUT. If you
are not returned immediately to the username prompt on logging out, press
<Ctrl> <E> to force the prompt to display.
On the web interface: Close your browser to logout.
On slots other than Slot 0:
if passwords are in use, then password entry will always be required when
connecting to Slot n from Slot 0. (The access timeout is run on all slots).
if connecting via the local serial port on a card in Slot n (for example on a High
Speed CPU ) then an account/password will be required.
