Application

When using a Substation Automation system with LON or SPA communication,
time-tagged events can be sent at change or cyclically from the IED to the station
level. These events are created from any available signal in the IED that is
connected to the Event function (EVENT). The EVENT function block is used for
LON and SPA communication.
Analog, integer and double indication values are also transferred through the
EVENT function.

Setting guidelines

The input parameters for the Event function (EVENT) can be set individually via
the local HMI (Main Menu/Settings / IED Settings / Monitoring / Event
Function) or via the Parameter Setting Tool (PST).
EventMask (Ch_1 - 16)
The inputs can be set individually as:
NoEvents
OnSet, at pick-up of the signal
OnReset, at drop-out of the signal
OnChange, at both pick-up and drop-out of the signal
AutoDetect, the EVENT function makes the reporting decision (reporting
criteria for integers have no semantic, prefer to be set by the user)
LONChannelMask or SPAChannelMask
Definition of which part of the event function block that shall generate events:
Off
Channel 1-8
Channel 9-16
Channel 1-16
MinRepIntVal (1 - 16)
A time interval between cyclic events can be set individually for each input
channel. This can be set between 0 s to 3600 s in steps of 1 s. It should normally be
set to 0, that is, no cyclic communication.
It is important to set the time interval for cyclic events in an
optimized way to minimize the load on the station bus.
