Color Flow Tools

The real-time Control Bar Tools Soft Key displays a number of secondary-level real-time
imaging-related controls. The active Tools items will vary according to the scanning mode.

Description
Exits the Tools sub-menu.
Steps through multiple color flow maps. This selection also allows you to move from
velocity mode to power mode.
They are displayed in the on-screen settings window as either Vel (velocity maps) or Pwr
(Amplitude Power maps). The maps are represented in the color bar next to the real-time
image.
Velocity Invert. Shifts the color map orientation from the default of red = towards the
transducer, to blue = towards the transducer. When invert is selected, the color map
graphic bar will invert.
Displayed in the on-screen settings window as Vel.
WARNING: It is important to pay careful attention to the color flow invert
status of the system. The non-inverted state is red=towards the transducer,
displayed at the top of the color bar and blue=away from the transducer,
displayed at the bottom of the color bar.
Adjusts the arbitration that takes place between B-Mode tissue signals and Color Flow
mapping signals. Higher priority settings will give greater weight to color flow signals. This
can be used with weaker flows or to fill in flow near vessel borders.
Displayed in the on-screen settings window as Pri.
Color Persistence. Increases or decreases the amount of persistence applied to Color
Flow signals. Higher settings will produce a smoother looking image and may help with
weak flow, but may have an appearance of lower frame rates.
Displayed in the on-screen settings window as CP.
Color Filter. Adjusts the Color Flow high pass filter. Lower settings will pass through
lower frequency flow signals.
Displayed in the on-screen settings window as CF.
Color Scale. Increases or decreases the Color Flow pulse repetition frequency. The
scale is displayed next to the color bar in centimeters per second.
