Implantable Devices

WARNING: Ultrasound systems, like other medical equipment, use high-frequency
electrical signals that can interfere with implantable devices such as pacemakers and
implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs). If the patient has such an implantable
device, you should be aware of any interference in its operation and immediately power
off the ultrasound system.
WARNING: The probe battery and probe adapter cable well at the back of the probe,
away from the transducer end (see illustration) into which the probe battery or cable
adapter are placed, contains magnets used to secure the probe battery and cable
adapter. Keep this end of the probe at least 3 cm (1.3 inches) away from implanted
cardiac rhythm devices.
