Hard Drive Installation
The drives are mounted in drive carriers to simplify their installation and removal from the
chassis. These carriers also help promote proper airflow through the drive bays.
Removing Hard Drive Carriers from the Chassis
1. Open the top front cover of the chassis.
2. Slide the release button on the drive carrier, which opens the carrier handle.
3. Use the drive carrier handle to pull the drive out of the chassis.
Caution: Except for short periods of time, such as swapping hard drives, do not operate the
server with the hard drive bays empty.
