When connecting the terminal to a device which requires
grounding such as a desktop PC with a USB cable, be sure
to perform a ground connection. While connecting without
grounding, fingerprint authentication may fail. In that case,
disconnect the terminal from the device and then perform
fingerprint authentication.

Fingerprint authentication technology does not guarantee
complete identity authentication or verification. Note that
DOCOMO assumes no responsibility for any damage caused
by using the terminal by the third party or unavailability of
this terminal.

Even when the security unlock preference is set to
fingerprint authentication, unlocking the screen lock with
the security unlock preference used in combination every 72
hours or when activating the terminal is required. Do not
forget the security unlock preference used in combination.

Precautions when using fingerprint
sensor

Although the surface of the fingerprint sensor is waterproof,
water droplet or dirt on the fingerprint sensor or your finger
causes a malfunction. Remove water droplet or dirt with soft
cloth before using. Also, when your finger tip is wrinkled by
moisture, a malfunction may be caused.

The following conditions may cause failure or damage:
- Strike or give a hard shock
- Scratch or poke with a pointed object
- By pressing a hard object such as fingernail or a metal of
strap against, the surface of the fingerprint sensor is
scratched
- The surface of the fingerprint sensor is scratched or dirty
due to mud etc.
- Cover with a sticker or paint with ink etc.

The following conditions may make fingerprint
authentication difficult or reduce the authentication
performance. Occasionally clean the surface of the
fingerprint sensor.
- Dirt of dust, sebum, etc. attachment or condensation of
moisture of sweat etc.

When the following phenomenon occurs, clean the surface
of the fingerprint sensor. The phenomenon may be
improved.
- Frequently registration of fingerprint or authentication
fails.
･
When cleaning the fingerprint sensor, remove dirt on the
surface with a dray, soft cloth which does not generate static
electricity easily. Even when dirt collects on the sensor while
using for a long time period, do not use a pointed object to
remove the dirt.

Static electricity may cause a malfunction. Before place your
finger on the fingerprint sensor, remove static electricity by
touching metal etc. Be careful especially in dry season like
winter.

Registering fingerprint

From the Home screen,
[Security]→[Register fingerprint]→[NEXT]

When you set security unlock preference requiring
authentication, authenticate and then go to Step 3.
