Troubleshooting
If the charger does not function, check the following points:
• Is the socket working properly and is it supplying mains voltage?
• Is the connected battery faulty or deeply discharged?
• Has the charger been connected to the lead battery terminals with the correct
polarity? The "
polarity.
• The charging cable has a 10 A flat fuse. Is this fuse in the charging cable faulty?
In this case, replace the fuse and check the cabling.
Note: The housing of the charger becomes warm if it charges for a longer period with
a charging current of 600 mA (e.g. for larger batteries). This is not a device fault, but a
normal technical feature.
Fault: After connecting and commissioning the charger, the voltage of the
battery does not increase
• Measure the voltage on the battery clamps with a suitable voltmeter during the
charging process to check whether it increases.
• Check whether the charging clamps have a proper electrical contact with the
battery terminals. Oxidised battery clamps or terminals are detrimental to
the electrical contact. The high resistance in the charging chain may cause
malfunctions/incorrect measurements on the charger.
• Clean the battery terminals and check the charging clamps.
Fault: The battery is not fully charged after a long charging time
• Disconnect the charger from the mains power.
• Disconnect the charging clamps from the battery and wait for a few minutes.
