CHECKING THE ENGINE IDLING SPEED
TIP
Prior to checking the engine idling speed, the air
filter element should be clean, and the engine
should have adequate compression.
1. Start the engine and let it warm up for several
minutes.
2. Install:
• Digital tachometer
(To the spark plug lead)

a. Turn the main switch to "OFF".
b. Connect the self-diagnosis signal coupler "1"
to the FI diagnostic tool "2" as shown.
TIP
Remove the cap from the self-diagnosis signal
coupler before connecting the FI diagnostic tool.

c. While pressing the "MODE" button "1", turn
the main switch to "ON".
TIP
• "DIAG" appears on the LCD display "2" of the
FI diagnostic tool.
