ADJUSTING THE CLUTCH LEVER FREE
PLAY
1. Check:
• Clutch lever free play "a"
Out of specification  Adjust.
Clutch lever free play
5.0–10.0 mm (0.20–0.39 in)
a
2. Adjust:
• Clutch lever free play
▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼
a. Loosen the locknut "1".
b. Turn the adjusting bolt "2" in direction "a" or
"b" until the specified clutch lever free play is
obtained.
Direction "a"
Clutch lever free play is increased.
Direction "b"
Clutch lever free play is decreased.
c. Tighten the locknut "1".

CHECKING THE TIMING CHAIN TENSIONER

1. Remove:
• Timing chain tensioner cap "1"

2. Check:
• Rod "1"
Check if the rod end "1" is flush with the ad-
juster end "2".
Not flush  Adjust.

3. Adjust:
• Timing chain tension
▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼
a. Loosen the timing chain tensioner locknut "1".
b. Turn the adjuster "2" in or out until the rod end
"3" is flush with the adjuster end "2".
c. Tighten the timing chain tensioner locknut
"1".
Timing chain tensioner locknut
38 Nm (3.8 m·kgf, 27 ft·lbf)
