Quick Setup for Config 3.

Application: Stair pressurisation fan with external PID

This setup is for a typical HVAC stair pressurisation fan application that requires air pressure control
using an air pressure transducer and a PID controller external to the MSC-3. The MSC-3 is configured
to run in essential services override (ESO) mode. Prior to commissioning, you will need to know the type
of speed signal that is to be used (0-10V, 4-20mA etc) between the output of the external PID controller
and the MSC-3.
Procedure
STEP 1
Complete the power wiring according to the instructions on pages 9 to 18
STEP 2
Connect the control wiring as shown.
CAUTION
Do not connect the wire
to terminal 6 yet.
The terminal configuration
should not be changed
while the MSC-3 is
enabled.

STEP 3
Connect the signal wiring from the external PID controller as shown. Consult the PID
controller manufacturer's literature for other connections and power supples required by
the PID controller.
STEP 4
Follow the instructions on page 47 for MSC-3 startup, setting the parameters
according to the table below. Alternate values may be used to suit the application.
