Formatting a Memory Card
Formatting allows data to be written to the memory card. A new memory
(CompactFlash) card must be formatted before it can be used in the printer.
•
Formatting destroys any existing data on the memory card.
•
When installing or removing a memory card into or from the printer,
you must turn the printer power switch off. Failure to do so will

immediately halt the printer with a Memory card err20 message. It
could also result in damage to the printer's electronic parts or the
memory card.
To format a memory card, proceed as follows.

Press the MENU key.

Press the
Memory Card

Press the > key.

Press the
>Format
5
Press the ENTER key. A question mark (?) appears.
>Format ?

key until Memory Card > appears.
