Measure the run-out of the inner tube.

If the measured value is larger than the specified value:

Replace the inner tube.

If there is damage:

Replace the outer tube.

Check the surface of the sliding bushing.

Replace the sliding bushing.

Check the spring length.

Spring length with preload spacer(s)

If the measured value is greater than the specified value:
–
Reduce the thickness of the preload spacer.

If the measured value is smaller than the specified value:
–
Increase the thickness of the preload spacer.

Clamp the compression damping fitting in a bench vise using soft jaws.

Mount O-ring
–
Grease the O-ring.
