Printer Reset

The printer can be reset to the power-up configuration values whenever necessary. To reset
the printer, simply press CLEAR FAULT and RUN/STOP TEST simultaneously. The proce
dure resets the printer to the configuration values last saved, not factory default values.

Running the Self-Test

P6000L/P6200L Series printers include various self-test functions. Use the self-test as
needed to determine if the printer is functioning normally.
To run the self-tests:
1.
Place the printer offline.
2.
Repeatedly press CONFIG MENU until DIAGNOSTICS is displayed.
3.
Press CONFIG VALUE; CONFIGURATION PRINTOUT will be displayed.
4.
Repeatedly press CONFIG MENU until either PRINTER TEST 8 INCH WIDTH or
PRINTER TEST FULL WIDTH is displayed.
5.
Repeatedly press CONFIG VALUE until the appropriate test is displayed. Tests include
shift recycle, all Es, and others.
6.
Press RUN/STOP TEST to begin the selected self-test; press RUN/STOP TEST again to
stop the test.
Examine the print quality. The characters should be solidly formed and aligned. If not, there
may be a problem with the printer.
7.
Repeatedly press CLEAR FAULT to place the printer offline.
8.
Place the printer online.
