Possible cause
The engine preheating time is insuffi-
cient.
The fuel injection system is malfunc-
tioning.

The BlueTec exhaust gas aftertreat-
ment is short of DEF.
A fluid other than the specified DEF is
inside the tank.

The engine starts but stalls immediately.

Possible cause
Idling speed setting is too low.
The fuel filter is clogged.
The air cleaner is clogged.
The DPF is blocked.

The engine fails to stop.

Possible cause
The fuel injection system is malfunc-
tioning.
The starter switch is malfunctioning.

Black or white exhaust gas

Possible cause
The DPF system is malfunctioning.

The engine overheats.

Possible cause
The front of the intercooler and radia-
tor is plugged with dust and dirt.
The coolant level is too low.
Remedy
Follow the preheating instructions.
Have an authorized dealer perform
necessary inspection.
Add the specified DEF.
Place the starter switch in the "LOCK"
position, and immediately contact an
authorized dealer who will discharge
the fluid and inspect the vehicle.
Remedy

Replace the filter element.
Clean or replace the filter element.
