Short Message Service (SMS)
Incoming SMS message signalling
Incoming, unread SMS messages are signalled by a flashing LED, the SMS symbol » « on the
display and the number of messages received. The number outside the brackets is the number
of SMS messages for the active user. The number inside brackets is the total number of SMS
messages received. An acoustic signal sounds twice to alert you to a new incoming SMS mes-
sage.
You can switch this signal on or off as follows:
Press the menu button again. »Functions« appears in the display.
Press the softkey repeatedly under »
display.
Press the softkey under »change«.

along with the current status, »on« or »off« and, in the second line, »change,

Press the softkey under »change«. The second line shows which status you can

Press the softkey under »ok«. The signal tone is deactivated/activated.

To exit the menu, hold down the EXIT button.
Handling SMS messages
Read SMS
Select the user. Incoming calls/SMS messages (» «) are displayed for the active
user outside the brackets.
Press the softkey under the SMS symbol » « or the number of incoming calls/
SMS messages. The display shows the name or number of the caller/sender. If
an SMS has been received, the SMS pictogram » « is shown in the second line.
Press the softkey under the SMS symbol » «. The message is displayed. Use the
softkey under » , « to scroll down/up the text.
If you want to know the date and time the SMS was received, press the softkey
under »i« rather than under the SMS symbol » «. The date and time are dis-
played.
