IMPORTANT
To use the host name confirmed in step 4 of the above example as the host name
in the machine's address, it is necessary to use a DNS server. (This applies even
when the machine and the FTP server are in the same subnet.) If no DNS server is
available, the host name setting should be specified using the IP address of the
FTP server. When entering a group of digits less than three digits long, do not add
leading zeros to the group. (For example, do not enter 001, 023, etc. as a group.)
Up to 128 alphanumeric characters can be entered for both [Host Name] and [File
Path] on the control panel. Use strings no more than 128 characters long for the
corresponding items on the server.
If the FTP port number is set to a value other than 21, specify the following for
[Host Name] (in the case of imageRUNNER 5000i, only 21 can be set):
<IP address of FTP server>:<Port number>
Example: 192.168.1.21:21000
NOTE
For instructions on specifying recipient address settings from the control panel, see
"Chapter 1 Various Sending Methods" in the Sending Function Guide
(imageRUNNER 105, imageRUNNER 8500, imageRUNNER 7200,
imageRUNNER 5000i), or "Chapter 1 Various Sending Methods" in the Sending
Function/Facsimile Guide (imageRUNNER 3300i). For instructions on using a web
browser (Remote UI), see "Chapter 2 Functions of the Remote UI" in the Remote
UI Guide.
The settings for sending data to the FTP server are completed.
