    The following support mechanisms have been established to deliver high quality and timely technical support services and product information to imageRUNNER 8500 dealerships. These support services cover areas such as: system and user software, networking and connectivity issues, electro-mechanical operations, and other hardware servicing issues.

    8500 Certification Guide. Certification Guides are to provide imageRUNNER 600 certified Technicians a reference for new technology that is used in the imageRUNNER 8500. The Certification Guide will highlight the differences, through pictures and reference materials, between the imageRUNNER 8500 and the imageRUNNER 600.

    However, in August of 2001, it will be extended to five days to allow for comprehensive training of all of the imageRUNNER 600/550/60 and the imageRUNNER 8500. This five-day course will be available in all five of the Canon Regional Training Centers.

    • Novell CNA or Novell CNE / Microsoft MCSE™ certification. • Canon copier service technician with two years of experience centered on connectivity products. A degree in computer science, engineering, or a computer technician with two years of experience is required in the above areas.

    To adequately service the imageRUNNER 8500, Canon U.S.A. strongly recommends that dealers have a laptop computer available for use as a primary tool for the imageRUNNER 8500. This laptop must meet the specifications that are listed in the Computer Requirements For Upgrading of the Service Features Section on Page 9.

    This warranty shall only apply if the Product is used in conjunction with compatible computers, peripheral equipment and software, as to which items Canon shall have no responsibility. This warranty does not cover the Canon Drum Unit for the Product, for which a separate warranty is given.
  • Page 28: Canon Gpr-7 Drum Unit Limited Warranty

    Following the expiration of the 30 day warranty period, and continuing for a period of ONE YEAR after delivery to the original purchaser of the Drum Unit or use of it to make 2,000,000 copies, whichever comes first, Canon shall provide a credit ("Credit") to the original purchaser toward a replacement Drum Unit if the Drum Unit fails to operate under normal use and service by reason of any defect in workmanship and materials, other than exterior defects, such as nicks, scratches or dents.
