CYLINDER HEAD

• Install the dowel pins into the cylinder and then install the
cylinder head gasket
A CAUTION
Use a new gasket to prevent gas leakage.
• Place the cylinder head onto the cylinder.
• Cylinder head nuts and washers must be installed cor-
rectly as shown.
Copper washer
Steel washer
• Tighten the cylinder head nuts (10-mm) to the specified
torque in a crisscross pattern.
Cylinder head nut (10-mm): 38N-m
• Tighten the cylinder base nuts (2) and cylinder head nuts
(6-mm) (D to the specified torque.
H Cylinder base nut ©: 10 N-m (1.0 kg-m, 7.0 Ib-ft)
Cylinder head nut (6-mm) ®: 10 N-m
onto the cylinder.
(3.8 kg-m, 27.5 Ib-ft)
(1.0 kg-m, 7.0 Ib-ft)
